About Annette Strauss Artist Square
Named in honor of the passionate arts supporter former Mayor Annette Strauss, The Annette Strauss Artist Square is an open-air venue for festivals, concerts and theatrical productions.
Beginning May 2006, the square will be temporarily relocated at the Samuell-Grand Amphitheater, during the construction phase of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. In October 2009, Annette Strauss Artist Square will have a permanent home at the Dallas Center for Performing Arts in the Dallas Arts District.
The amphitheater’s permanent stage is located in the eastern portion of Samuell-Grand Park next to the Tenison golf course. A permanent stage faces sloped audience seating, with a covered shaded pavilion seating area, lawn chair seating, a catering bar and easy access to concessions and vendors.
The well maintained park setting can accommodate a diverse selection of art, music, dance festivals and theatrical productions for 3,000 guests at one time.
